The Ewenny Priory is a fine example of a fortified Norman church. The priory was built 1126 and was fortified to help protect a garrison of soldiers that were based there. The presbytery which houses the tombs of the DeLondres family is an impressive area surrounded by thick columns and walls, clearly displaying the architecture of the period.
