The historical town of Llantwit Major is a mixture of old and new. The old town is a maze of narrow lanes lined with centuries old cottages and pubs whilst the new town has the amenities that you would expect from a modern town.
When exploring the town you may stumble upon some of the 13 historic blue plaques which signify historic people or places.
One of the most important Christian sites in Wales was built in Llantwit Major - the church of St Illtud and religious school was founded in 500AD.
A short drive from the centre is Colhugh Beach which is a mixture of rock and sand and is popular with surfers, and walkers of the Wales Coastal Path.
The town has a direct train line to Cardiff.
