The original lifeboat house in Mumbles was opened in 1835. It was taken over by the RNLI in 1863 but had to wait until 1904 to become the official lifeboat house for the bay.
The old Lifeboat house was de-commissioned in 2014 to be replaced by a multi-million pound state of the art facility which now houses the £3 million Tamar Class lifeboat.
The station is open to the public for free and regular launches can be viewed.
